What Are Bed Bugs?
Bed bugs are small, flat, wingless insects that feed on blood, usually while people are sleeping. Adults are typically reddish-brown and are often compared in size and shape to an apple seed.
They hide in mattress seams, bed frames, upholstered furniture, cracks and other sheltered areas close to where people rest. Bed bugs can travel between properties in luggage, clothing, furniture and personal belongings, so an infestation is not necessarily a sign of poor cleanliness.
